On May 19, 2021, Academy of Public Administration under the President of the Republic of Kazakhstan hosted a meeting with the Head of the OSCE Programme Office in Nur-Sultan, Mr. Volker Frobarth.
The Rector of the Academy, Mr. Yerlan Abil, congratulated Mr. Frobarth on his new appointment and presented the strategic priorities, goals and objectives of the Academy. During this meeting, Academy shared the latest development to its current and future projects for the professional development of civil servants, for conducting applied research and providing consulting services to government agencies.
Representatives of the OSCE Programme Office in Nur-Sultan expressed their interest in training programs to clarify the norms of the Administrative Procedure Code of the Republic of Kazakhstan, to retrain and improve the qualifications of Akims of rural districts. Moreover, the issues of implementation of the Concept for the Development of public administration and further professionalization of public service were discussed.
The parties agreed to hold joint events to implement the Anti-Corruption Strategy of Kazakhstan, organize guest lectures and conduct thematic seminars and trainings on the development of public administration and civil service. During the negotiations, specific areas of cooperation between the OSCE Programme Office in Nur-Sultan and the Academy were identified.
We remind you that the OSCE Programme Office in Nur-Sultan works on security issues, including arms control; border management; the fight against terrorism; trafficking in human beings, arms and drugs; economic and environmental topics; human rights and rule of law issues; and media freedom.
